BLOOD FROM A CLONE
By George Harrison

They say they like it, but
Now in the market it
May not go well as it's too laid back.
You need some oomph-papa,
Nothing like Frank Zappa,
And not new wave, they don't play that crap.

Try beating your head on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Don't have the time for the music,
They want the blood from a clone.

I hear a clock ticking,
I feel the nit-picking,
I almost quit kicking at the wall.
There seems a confusion,
Under the illusion
That they know just what will suite you all.

Beating your head on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Ain't got time for the music,
They want the blood from a clone.

There is no sense to it,
Pure pounds and pence to it,
They're so intense too, makes me amazed.
Don't want no music, but,
They're making you stick with
Some awful noises that may get played.

By beating their heads on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Ain't no messing 'round with music,
Give them the blood from a clone.

Beating my head on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Ain't got time for the music,
They want the blood from a clone.

Where will it lead us?
I thought we had freed us
From the mundane, seems I'm wrong again.
Could be they lack roots, they're
Still wearing jack boots, they're
Marching somewhere in the pouring rain.

Beating my head on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Don't have time for the music,
They want the blood from a clone.

Beating my head on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Ain't no messing 'round with music,
Give them the blood from a clone.

Beating my head on a brick wall,
Hard like a stone.
Ain't got time for the music,
They want the blood from a clone.

UNCONSCIOUSNESS RULES
By George Harrison

Do lang, do dang, do...

You dance at the discotheque,
That's why you look such a wreck.
Your face is pale, you look drawn,
Your clothes are dirty and torn.
You've got the look in your eyes that says
You're half alive and you're lost inside.
Meanwhile you're back in your cage,
Ego'd out on the stage
Where the unconsciousness rules.

You've got yourself in a bind,
You don't know how to unwind.
Your senses unsatisfied,
Take you along on a ride.
You've got a way and a stance that says
You'll dance the pants off of ev'ryone.
Then you go back on the floor,
You got to get through the door
Where the unconsciousness rules,
Do lang, do dang, do.

You've lost a screw in your head,
It shows the way you're led,
Blind leading the blind.
Nothing can stand in your way,
You're living day after day
Where the unconsciousness rules.
Do lang, do dang, do.

Oh yeah,
Oh yeah,
Unconsciousness rules,
Do lang, do dang, do.

LIFE ITSELF
By George Harrison

You are the one, you are my love,
You send the rain and bring the sun.
You stand alone and speak the truth,
You are the breath of life itself, oh yes, you are.

You are the one, you're in my dream,
I hold you there in high esteem.
I need you more each step I take,
You are the love in life itself, oh yes, you are,
You are the one.

You are the one that I'd die for
And you're all that is real.
You are the essence of that which
We taste, touch and feel.

You are the one, no matter what,
You are the real love that I've got.
You are my friend and when life's through,
You are the light in death itself, oh yes, you are,
You are the one.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.

They call you Christ, Vishnu, Buddha,
Jehovah, our Lord,
You are Govindam, Bismillah,
Creator of all.

You are the one, you are my love,
You send the rain and bring the sun.
You stand alone and speak the truth,
You are the breath of life itself, oh yes, you are,
The breath of life itself, oh yes, you are.

Ah.

The one that I'd die for,
You're all that is real.

ALL THOSE YEARS AGO
By George Harrison

I'm shouting all about love,
While they treated you like a dog.
When you were the one who had made it so clear
All those years ago.

I'm talking all about how to give,
They don't act with much honesty.
But you point the way to the truth when you say
All you need is love.

Living with good or bad,
I always looked to you.
Now we're left cold and sad
By someone, the devil's best friend,
Someone who offended all.

We're living in a bad dream,
They've forgotten all about mankind.
And you were the one they backed up to the wall,
All those years ago.
You were the one who imagined it all,
All those years ago.

All those years ago.

Ooh,
All those years ago.

Deep in the darkest night,
I send out a prayer to you.
Now in the world of light,
Where the spirit free of the lies,
And all else that we despised.

They've forgotten all about god,
He's the only reason we exist.
Yet you were the one that they said was so weird,
All those years ago.
You said it all though not many had ears,
All those years ago.
You had control of our smiles and our tears,
All those years ago.

Uh, all those years ago.

BALTIMORE ORIOLE
By Paul Francis Webster and Hoagy Carmichael

Baltimore Oriole,
Took one look at that Mercury, forty below.
No life for a lady,
To be draggin' her feathers around in the snow.
Leaving me blue, off she flew
To the tangipaho, down in Louisiana,
Where a two-timin' jaybird met the divine miss O.

I'd like to ruffle his plumage,
That Baltimore Oriole.
Messed around with that big guy
Till he singed her wings.
Forgivin' is easy, it's a woman like, now and then,
Could happen to thing
Send her back home,
Home ain't home without her warbling,
How she can sing.
Make a lonely man happy, Baltimore Oriole.
Come down from that bough.

Mm-mm.

Send her back home,
Home ain't home without her warbling,
How she can sing.
Make a lonely man happy, Baltimore Oriole.
Come down from that bough, fly to your daddy now.

Ah, oo.

TEARDROPS
By George Harrison

Teardrops, doo doo doo'n'doo'n'doo,
I had my share of crying buckets full of
Teardrops, doo doo doo'n'doo'n'doo,
So hard to take, I got a soaking with those
Teardrops, doo doo doo'n'doo'n'doo,
And it feels like I have taken over from the rain.

In the heart of a lonely man,
In and out of love more often than most others can.
He walks the streets like the losers in some lovers game,
And talks so sweet, but the news is always much the same.

In the eyes of the lonely one,
Ev'rything is cold and hopeless that he looks upon.
He needs a friend, a lover who can comfort him,
His deeds offend, he knows that he has brought on him,
Mm-mm-mm, mm-mm-mm.

Teardrops.

Teardrops, doo doo doo'n'doo'n'doo oo...

THAT WHICH I HAVE LOST
By George Harrison

He is fighting the forces of darkness limitation,
Falsehood and mortality which bar him
The way back into the higher world.
While his whole being is bewildered,
He does not know of no law of action,
Taking refugee inside himself and he's saying:

I need someone to show me,
Illumine my consciousness.
Remove the dark from in me
And give me that which I have lost.

As all had seemed lost, a light from heaven breaking,
A flash, inward illumination
Enriched his life more than any words can tell.
He stood there, life renewed, fresh as rain,
Scales were falling from his eyes again,
The bolts of his prison opening, he's saying:

I found someone who showed me,
Illumined my consciousness.
Removed the dark from in me
And given me that which i have lost.

You people don't have time to listen to him,
You're too busy fighting revolution
That keeps you back down in the lower world.
Your mirrors of understanding; they need cleansing,
Polish away the dust of desire
Before pure light will reflect in them.

You need someone to show you,
Illumine your consciousness.
Remove the dark from in you
And give you that which you have lost.

Illumine the consciousness.
Remove the dark from in me
And give me, give me that which I have lost.

I need someone to show me,
Illumine my consciousness.
Remove the dark from in me
And give me that which i have lost.

Illumine your consciousness.

WRITING'S ON THE WALL
By George Harrison

The writing's on the wall, brother,
Your life is in your hands.
It's up to you to see the writing's on the wall.

It looks you in the eye, mister,
It's time we stand up tall.
Go see and understand the writing's on the wall.

Strange we hold on to things
That has no grace or power
While death holds on to us much more
With ev'ry passing hour.
And all the time you thought it would last,
Your life, your friends would always be,
'Til they're drunk away or shot away
Or die away from you.

There's nothing that you need, mister,
The lord is in you all.
Life is designed to see the writing's on the wall.

The music's in the air, mothers,
You may have heard it call
To you that you may see the writing's on the wall.

And all the time you thought it would last,
Your life, your friends would always be,
But they're drunk away or shot away
And die away from you.

Be careful going home, sister,
Be watchful down that road.
You've got a lot of love, sister, more to grow.

I hope that you may see the writing's on the wall.

HONG KONG BLUES
By Hoagy Carmichael

It's the story of a very unfortunate coloured man
Who got arrested down in old Hong Kong.
He got twenty years' privilege taken away from him
When he kicked old Buddha's gong.

Now he's poppin' the piano just to raise the price
Of a ticket to the land of the free.
Well, he says his home's in 'Frisco
Where they send the rice,
But it's really in Tennessee.

That's why he says.

I need someone to love me,
I need somebody to carry me home to San Francisco
And bury my body there.
I need someone to lend me a fifty-dollar bill and then
I'll leave Hong Kong behind me
For happiness once again.

Won't somebody believe,
I've a yen to see that bay again.
Ev'rytime I try to leave,
Sweet opium won't let me fly away.

That's the story of a very unfortunate coloured man
Who got arrested down in old Hong Kong.
He got twenty years' privilege taken away from him
When he kicked old Buddha's gong.

SAVE THE WORLD
By George Harrison

We've got to save the world,
Someone else may wanna use it.
So far we've seen,
This planet's rape, how we've abused it.
We've gotta save the world.

The Russians have the biggest share,
With their long fingers ev'rywhere.
And now they've bombs in outer space,
With laser beams and atomic waste.

Rain forests chopped for paper towels,
One acre gone in ev'ry hour.*
Our birds and wildlife all destroyed
To keep some millionaires employed.

We've got to save the whale,
Greenpeace, they've tried to diffuse it.
But dog food salesmen
Persist unkindly to harpoon it.
We've gotta save the world.

The armament consortium,
They're selling us plutonium.
Now you can make your own h-bomb,
Right in the kitchen with your mom.

The nuclear power that costs you more
Than anything you've known before.
The half-wit's answer to a need
For cancer, death, destruction, greed.

We've gotta save the world,
Someone's children they may need it.
So far we've seen,
The big business of extinction bleed it,
We've gotta save the world.

We're at the mercy of so few,
With evil hearts determined to
Reduce this planet into hell
Then find a buyer and make quick sale.

To end up on a happy note,
Like trying to make concrete float,
It's very simple knowing that
God in your heart lives.

We've gotta save the world,
Someone else may wanna use it.
It's time you knew,
How close we've come, we're gonna lose it.
Gotta save, we've gotta save, gotta save the world.
Mm-mm-mm.
